Summer is a great time to get inspired to do some small repairs and projects around the outside of the house. Putting up new planter hooks, replacing an old window or just repairing a broken screen door can make such a difference in your enjoyment of the summer season. All the things you put off or don’t notice in the fall and winter can be taken care of with a little effort. Plus taking care of home repairs yourself is rewarding, regardless of how small the project is.
If you aren’t much of a do-it-yourselfer, maybe it’s time you got started learning how to take care of basic home improvement projects. Or if you already know how, maybe it’s time to get the tools and supplies you need to get going.
Having the right tools on hand is sometimes all it takes to get inspired to do home improvements. When you have a great new cordless drill, you suddenly find all kinds of ways to use it.
Maybe it’s not the tools you need, but the workshop accessories that would allow you to get organized. If your garage or basement workshop is a mess, just looking for your drill could be a chore. You could get inspired to complete your home improvement projects by first getting motivated to redo your workshop. New shelves, a better toolbox, a shop vac or better lighting could be all it takes to get you interested in working around the house this summer, and long term.
